Transmission Expansion Planning (TEP) is the process through which utilities, grid-operators, and regulators ensure that the electric transmission system continues to reliably and efficiently meet future demand, policy requirements, and technological changes. TEP focuses on identifying a set of projects that will ensure delivery of generation to load, over a range of potential future scenarios that capture expected uncertainty as well as abnormal events or outages over the planning horizon.
